Slurry passes through a hydrocyclone at high velocity, and fine abrasive particles wear the inner surface of the unit. A wear-resistant ceramic lining protects the body and extends the service life of the hydrocyclone.
Hydrocyclones are used for classifying ore slurry, thickening sludge and flotation products, beneficiating fine coal and ore fractions, and cleaning circulating water.
We match the lining material and thickness to the particle size and solids content of the slurry and to the cyclone design. For heavily loaded parts such as spigots we also make silicon carbide based components. Cast basalt lining is described on the basalt hydrocyclones page.
