Description

Pipes carrying alumina, bauxite, sinter dust, lime, coal and other abrasive materials wear out first at the bends. An internal ceramic lining takes the wear: the steel pipe remains the load-bearing shell, while the ceramics form the working surface. These pipes and bends are used in pneumatic and hydraulic conveying.

Lining design

Pipes and bends with a ceramic inner diameter up to DN 200 mm are assembled from male-female cylindrical segments. The joints are tight and the lining lasts.
Above DN 200 mm the pipes are lined with mosaic panels or tapered plates of the required thickness, fitted to the pipe or bend diameter.
Connection to the line: standard, via a connecting flange, or a transition to a steel pipe.

Wear monitoring

Pipes and bends can be fitted with an electronic ceramic wear monitoring system. It shows which element is worn and needs replacing, when it was installed and how long it has been in service, and raises a light and sound alarm that is also visible on a PC, tablet or smartphone. After the alarm the steel pipe still holds, so a replacement can be ordered without an emergency shutdown.
